My Tragic Hair Story

So I love my hair. I decided the other day I would try to go 'bronde' like the pictures your see on Pinterest. So I went to Sally Beauty Supply and picked up some Wella brand hair color in the shade nutmeg, a 40 volume developer, and a few packs of bleach so I could do an ombré. All costing around $60.

My boyfriend and I mixed up the developer and the color and put it on my hair, thinking it would turn out the pretty nutmeg color I picked out. This is not what happened. My hair started getting really hot but I continued to let my hair go through the process. When the set amount of time was up I got in the shower and started to rinse my hair. I realized that my hair was shedding a few strands, but it always does that when I shower or color my hair because I have thick hair. When I got out of the shower and examined my hair I realized that for the first time in the six years of me dying my hair that it had "bubblegummed". This is when your hair has virtually melted into a blob and stretches like gum, and if you brush it, it all falls out. Below are the before and after pictures of my hair.
Before the Tragedy
After the "bubblegum"

I had to cut my hair off, there was no saving it :( I cried for two days. I first got it cut off at the South Point OH Fantastic Sams Salon by a woman named Alex. I was not happy with my hair cut at all, it
cost $14. The dead hair was still on the ends to the point where I still couldn't brush through my hair

with out gobs of hair falling into my hands. So, I went and got a second hair cut on the same day at Fiesta Salon in South Point OH by a woman named Angie costing $17. I cried to her and she helped me fix my hair. She told me that if I hadn't had such long, thick hair I would be bald due to the 40 volume developer being too strong. The next day I came in and had Angie color my hair. And after 3 hours (bless her heart) and $135, I came out with my final result, a short, layered, red to copper
ombré hair style.
After my second hair cut
After 3 hrs at the salon getting my hair colored;)

Me writing this blog:) haha

So the moral of the story is to not use a 40 volume developer!!! Ever! Unless you have been instructed by a professional or you are a professional! I have been doing my own hair for years and this was a terrible experience to go through, so be careful when doing your own hair!

Yesterday's Face of the Day

So I haven't posted in a while but I figured since I had a little time today that I would do a face of the day from yesterday because I haven't done my makeup yet today! And don't know if I will either! #lazysunday

Face:
CeraVe Moistuizing Cream was applied all over my face because my skin has been super dry.
Then I used bareMinerals Prime Time all over my face.
I then used my e.l.f mineral concealer in the shade fair to correct under eye circles and redness around my nose.
Then I put bareMinerals Powder foundation in light all over my face.
Followed by my Wet n Wild blush in the shade Heather Silk, which I applied to my outer cheeks and not my apples.
Then I applied Benefits Hoola bronzer directly below my blush.
Then on my cheek bones I added some of the Wet n Wild color icon bronzer in the shade Reserve Your Cabana.. This shade is actually a highlight, I don't know why they call it a bronzer?

That was it for my face, so on to the eyes.

I applied my E.l.f  eyelid primer all over eyelids.
Then for the rest of my look I use my Nudetude by The Balm.
First I started with the shade stand-offish all over my inner lid and on my brow bone.
Then I put the shade sultry on my outer corner of my lid.
Lastly I put the shade sexy in my crease and blended it out.
I then applied a thick cat eye type of  winged eyeliner with my Stila all day eyeliner on my upper lash line.
On my lower lash line I applied my tarte smolderEYES eyeliner in fig just below my waterline.
I then applied my Salon Perfect Demi Whispie false lashes, with those I used my revlon lash glue in black.
My last and final eye step was filling in my brows with my e.l.f brow kit in medium.

Then last but not least, lips:

I used my NYC lip stain in Tropic Tan as a base. Then I went over that with a frosty pink Softlips lip balm.

And that was all she wrote:)
I'm sorry I didn't put out more blogs this week.

Updates in my life:
- Me and my boyfriend are looking seriously into buying a cute three bedroom house:)
- I went to the emergency room today because I had a reaction from some medications I was taking, I am okay though:)
- My cat cuddled with me because he knew I felt bad.
- My pet hedgehog ate his first French fry today.
- I bought my graduation outfit yesterday !!! So cute!!

My shirt in this picture is from Kohls and my earrings are from Rue21.

I got a Pinterest!!

Check out my blog's new pinterest account!

Products I Am Getting Ride Of! Part 1!

I will do lots of categories in this blog! I recently went on a spring break trip and did quite a bit of shopping so I needed to thin out my collection of girly goodies!! So here we go!!!!!!

Nail polish -
Pure Ice in the shade French Kiss, too thin and transparent, bright royal blue.
Victoria Secret's Pink in the shade In Your Dreams, transparent. Light pale pink.
SinfulColors Professional in the shade Unicorn, transparent even with multiple coats. Pale Yellow.
Maybelline Color Show in the shade Pink Shock (a highlighter pink) and Keep Up The Flame (a candy apple red color) - ugly type of matte and transparent with three coats!

Perfumes -
Secret Body Spray Scent Expressions in Cocoa Butter Kiss Scent - it smells fine and cocoa buttery but I needed to limit my collection so I figured that This product wouldn't have a very lasting scent through out the day.
Bandida - that is all that the bottle says, it has an awesome appearance but the packaging leaks a bit and it has a strong floral/ clean scent that I don't find myself reaching for very often.

Hygiene Products -
Scentations by body source in the scent sunshine flower, this product is a shower gel  that I honestly haven't used once, it has a very faint scent of flowers and summer time that is pleasant but I have never used it so it is better to let someone else get use out of it.
Secret Invisible Solid Scent Expression Antiperspirant and Deodorant in the scents pasión de tango and completely clean. I don't really sweat much but these did not leave me feeling clean or smelling sweat free even after only a couple hours of wear.

Face Serums -
Olehenriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster, I got this in a free sample kit from Sephora and Simply never used it because I don't recall use anything to help my face from wrinkling.
Obagi ELASTderm Eye Complete Complex Serum, I used to use this everyday before I put of my makeup and didn't see any improvement in my few under eye wrinkles or in my dark circles and this was I believe and $80 product, very disappointed.

Moisturizers and Tanners -
BareMinerals Purely Nourishing Moisturizer for Combination Skin, I do not have combo skin so this moisturizer was not heavy enough for my dry skin before bed of before I apply my make up. I got this in a kit so don't think I went out looking for a combo skin moisturizer when I know I have dry skin, haha!
Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil - this product didn't really seem to sink into my skin and really moisturize it so I couldn't use it at night and the oil feeling takes so long to go away that I couldn't use this as a pre makeup moisturizer either.
Obagi Nu-Derm Action Moisturizer - this is a good heavy moisturizer but I prefer my new nighttime moisturizer because it leaves my skin feeling smoother and it feels lighter on the skin. This moisturizer reminds me of a heavy avon foot cream. So overall, this is heavy, non skin smoothing and doesn't do the job it should for its high price of $40.
Equate Beauty Dual Power Moisturizer, this product is a moisturizer an acne fighter. I did not notice it helping with acne and it wasn't very moisturizing on my skin. This product may work for a person with combo skin.

I hope that this post helped people see products that they should steer clear of or maybe a product or two that would work for them but didn't work for me! Thanks for taking your time to read this post, be on the look out for part two (heads up -it all about makeup!).

What I think about Benefit's Watt's Up!

So I was going through my collection of makeup today and realized there was something that I need to give away:( sad day! I don't mid sharing but I do not like when a product doesn't work for me specifically.  This product is a cream highlight that is actually darker than my natural skin color! It is a golden colored highlight and it don't give me a natural glowy look at all. This product has nice staying power but it is simply too dark!!!

For the pale girls like me out there, I would suggest two products for you. The e.l.f. essential facial shimmer whip in lilac petal, $1 or High Beam by Benefit, $26.
I want to get some comments going on below!:) what do you want to see?

Spring Makeup and Fragrances

Today's post is on products to enhance your look and smell for spring! I will do an eyes, lips, faces, and fragrance category. I will state name, price, smell (if it has one), texture, longevity, what is is best used for, how I apply is and pigmentation.

Fragrances:

Victoria Secret's Fragrance Mist in Pure Seduction. $12, the bottle says that it smells of red plum and freesia but I think it smells like strawberry kool-aid. You can spray 3 or 4 spritzes and the fragrance will stick around most of the day without being over powering.  I really like this for a spring, day time or date night sent.

Rue21's Twenty One Black. $9.99, this reminds me soo much of a piña colada. This would have to be reapplied about half way through a long day to keep the scent up and this is also awesome for date night. It smells sweet and sexy, in a coconut way! Haha

Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Fragrance Mist. $6 for the 3 fl oz size. This is a fresh linen scent all the way. This scent will last all day in the longevity category. I like this for day time when I look "relaxed" and want people to know that despited the fact I look lazy, I still smell fresh and clean.

Face:

Maybelline BB Cream $7.50, no scent. Very light on the skin and an almost watery consistency, lasts all day without slipping off. This is a very light coverage that should be worn when your skin looks the best- minimal zits or dark spots. This works well with my dry skin and my pale complexion.

Covergirl Tru Blend Liquid Foundation $9 Basic foundation scent. A thin cream consistency. Does great on my face for an eight hour (or longer) day. I use this when I want a little bit of additional coverage, I would say its a medium coverage, easy.

NYX Cream Blush in CB07 Red Cheeks - $5 - no scent. Once you put this on you forget that is even there because it is so weightless. This will wear all day and sort of stain the skin. This is a product that make your blush look natural. Where this product makes your color look real it is easily paired

with any makeup look. I apply this with my fingers lightly because it is super pigments.

bareMinerals Mineral Viel - $20 - no scent. Texture is smooth on the skin and very light. This needs to be touched up accordingly depending on how oily your skin is. I use this over foundation to mattify my skin. I apply this with a large powder brush sparingly all over my face. This product is translucent so it doesn't color correct.

Eyes:

NYX Love in Rio Barefoot in the Sand Trio - $5 - no scent. Soft texture. This wears all day with or without a primer. I use mostly the lightest and darkest shade. I use the lightest color all over my lid,
around my inner corner, and under my brow. I use the darkest shade in my crease. This looks best when paired with a bright lip because this trio gives a natural eye look. It is nicely pigmented.

L'Oreal 24 hr Infallible Eye Shadow in 759 Burst into Bloom - $8 - this wears all day and is best when paired with a primer that is a bit tacky. I use this all over my lid or as a pretty shade on my lower lash line for a pop of color. This is almost like a loose pigment and it is very shiney and true to color.

L.A. Colors 3 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Magnolia - $1 - this wears all day. I use all three of these shades in one eye look and it reminds me a lot of the bareMinerals Quad in Happy Place. These are awesomely pigmented.

Also for Spring, find a waterproof mascara and eyeliner that works well for your!

Lips:

Soft lips with the pink cap- $2.75 - fruity scent, this works best with bright eye combos because this shimmery pale pink Chapstick neutralizes your lips natural lip color and gives them a nude frosted
appearance, this would also work with natural eye looks. This should be reapplied every couple of hours if you aren't eating or drinking.

Milani Color Statement in 12 Flamingo Pose - $5.50 - fruity scent, wears for several hours w/o touch ups. This is best when paired with a natural eye look because it is a very pigmented coral pink shade.

Revlon COLORBURST Matte Balm in 235 Mischievous - $6 - peppermint scent. This needs to be reapplied about every hour or so but I just love the color, it is a soft ORANGE! I don't own anything else like it. This product is another one that you should wear with a more natural eye look because it is very IN YOUR FACE type of shade. Great spring color.

NYC Smooch Proof LIPStain in 503 Unstoppable Red - $4 - no offensive scent but it smells slightly like a washable marker. This will make it about half way through the day with out a reapplication. I usually apply a gloss overtop of this because it can be slightly drying but not overly so.  I pair this with almost any eye look because it isn't as bright as the other spring lip looks. Btw idk why the shade is called red because it is definitely coralish pink color.

Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in 900 Apricot - $6 - brown sugar smell, love it!!!!!!!!! This lacks in the pigmentation department and just leaves your lips feeling smooth and looking a bit peachy. This is actually a lipgloss that they call a lip balm but regardless it needs reapplied as often
as any other gloss would.  I use this with any eye look but this leaves the lips looking full and natural so it would make a beautiful pairing for a minimal makeup type of face.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in 110 Cosmo - $5 - cherry fragrance big time! This is a shiny, pink, glittery gloss that has a little bit of a thicker feel on the lips but it isn't uncomfortable on the lips. I apply this all over my lips or sometimes just in the center because it makes my lips appear fuller.  This can go with almost any eye or lip look you already have going on.

I hope this review helped someone get motivated for spring! If anyone is interested in a spring clothing blog just post it in the comment section below:))

All of my E.L.F. cosmetics/ products/ makeup for eyes and lips, the best and the worst!

So this post is a part two of a two part series. This will be my opinion on all of the e.l.f. Eyes and lip products I own! I will break it up into parts and do explanations for my likes and dislikes.

E.l.f. Eye Products I Enjoy:
Eyelid Primer -$1 - this product increases the longevity of your eyeshadow wear and can also make shadows more intense or vivid. I have bought this multiple times.
Waterproof Eyeliner Pen -$1 or $2- this product is a true definition of a hit and miss. The first time I bought it the product was completely dried out but then the second time I bought it the product was nicely pigmented and not dried up. The tip isn't extremely small but I do like the product a lot because of the felt tip, pigmentation, and wear.
Studio Liquid Precision Eyeliner -$3- this product also doesn't have at extremely small tip but once again I like the pigmentation. This applies easily.
* the eyeliners above were purchased in black and used to apply on my top lids only! does a winged liner in a breeze.

E.l.f Eye Product I Did Not Enjoy:
The Baked Eyeshadow Palette in Seattle -$10- price is ridiculous for e.l.f. it was an awful product, glitter everywhere, no pigmentation, difficult and messy to apply, dislike this product greatly.

E.l.f. Lip Product I Enjoyed:
Lip Exfoliator - $3- Probably my favorite E.l.f. Product of all. This takes all the dead dry skin of your lips, a unique, must have product. Smell and tastes like sugar! <3

E.l.f. Lip Products I found to be average, normal, or slightly below par.
Lip Ball Tinted -$2- the packaging makes it difficult to use. It smells great, feels like a gloss but it doesn't leave behind much color, even for a tint. I have these in the shades berry, nude, and peach.
Lip Stick -$1- These initially look nice on the lips, they smell fruity, but the staying power and packaging stick. Lasts at most an hour on the lips and I have had one of four break, plus the packaging always allows the lid to fall off. I have these in flirtatious, seductive, and posh.
Lip Stains -$2- Must apply multiple coats to achieve the correct color pay off then they don't have great staying power. I own this in pink petal, crimson crush, and berry blush.
Matte Lip Color - $3- Nicely pigmented and it doesn't feel too heavy but it is a dry formula.
Shimmer Lip Gloss -$2- Nice Pigmentation, true to color, little staying power. Sweet scent, light feeling on the lips, shines, and it has a doe foot applicator.

I hope that this little review helped my friend Candice through an E.l.f. Haul and help a bunch of other people as well! Still taking requests for posts in the comment section below!<3

All of my E.l.f. Cosmetics! Likes and dislikes!

This post is for my friend Candice Hysell who is getting into makeup! This is ALL of the e.l.f. Items for the face that I have in my collection.

FACE:
Daily Moisture Stick - $6 This product is used best for under eye touch ups, I don't find this to be a vital part of my makeup routine but if your under eyes look dry this will fix it and it has a nice cooling effect, it is also light weight and a clear gel type of lotion.
E.l.f Mineral Foundation - $5 excellent coverage but can cause issues with dry patches so moisturize if your skin isn't oily before you use this product. It is a nice medium coverage. I use this in Light and it has an SPF of 15 which is nice. It is a lot like bareMinerals powder foundation but a fourth of the price. Feels nice and light. Nice staying power.
E.l.f. Mineral Concealer in Fair. This is bad on dry patches and doesn't provide the best coverage. This is not a salmon color so it doesn't do well on blue toned dark circles. $5, I shouldn't be repurchasing this product.
All Over Cover Stick - $1 this has nice coverage in the shade Ivory, it has a slight yellow tint. This is a bit dry but it doesn't look awful on my already dry skin. This does the job for only one dollar. I also buy this in Toffee to use as a cream contour. Works very nicely but you have to apply it quickly because it sets to a smudge free state very quickly. Enjoy this a lot for the price.
Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St. Lucia $3 - this is great. The blush is supposedly a dupe for Nars Orgasm blush but I don't know because I have never owned anything by Nars.  It is a nice shimmery peachy pink blush, very pigmented. The bronzer is nice for older women or to give anyone a healthy looking glow. I would be careful when using this as a contour though because it my be too shimmery for some people. Contouring is done best with a matte bronzer. Love this.
Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal. This works as a nice highlight. It is only $1. It shows up translucent, not the pink color it is in the tube. I use this on my cheek bones and my Cupid's bone.
Makeup Mist and Set - $3 I have not used this enough to see if it increases make ups longevity but I think for three dollars it's worth a shot!

My yes list:
E.l.f Mineral Foundation
The All Over Cover Sticks in your shade and also in the shade Toffee for contouring
Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal
Contouring Blush & Bronzer in St. Lucia

I don't have a no list for this category because there is nothing I own that I hate but there are a few items I don't feel are MUST HAVES so....

My Unnecessary Item: Daily Moisture Stick
An item I haven't explored yet: Makeup Mist and Set
My Disliked Item: Mineral Concealer

Weekly Likes and Dislikes Cosmetics/Makeup/perfume/fragrances

So, I was looking through my makeup collection and realized that there are quite a few products in my collection that just sit in their drawers doing nothing because I haven't used them enough (or at all) for me to have formed an opinion on those products. So what's a girl to do? I took all of the products in my collection that I haven't formed an opinion on and threw them in a basket for me to start using, Yay! Experimenting with makeup. It's been pretty scary to range out from my normal products and to try so many new things.
In this post, I am going to explain some of the products I've enjoyed and a lot more products that I haven't enjoyed, lol. So here we go! I'm going to start with my Likes Category!

LIKEs:
The NYX Rouge Cream Blush in CB07 Red Cheeks. This doesn't disturb my makeup that I have applied under my blush. It is extremely pigmented so you have to apply this lightly. I like to apply this with my fingers after I do my primers, foundation, bronzer, and concealer but before my highlighting product and pressed powder. This ranges from $6-$7. This also looks like a very natural flush if you don't over apply.
E.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen. I can't speak to the water proof claim on this product because I didn't test it but the pigmentation is very nice. It's not as nice as my Stila Pen but it does a good job at $18 less than that particular product. (Product prices for $2) It does not have the ability to make a super fine line but it does well enough for me to be able to do winged liner. I have bought one before that was dried out as soon as I opened the packaging but this one is going strong after owning it for a few weeks! I use this in the shade black
Almay Intense I-Color Shimmer-I Kit in 424 Trio for Greens. This product doesn't have a mirror in the packaging, it comes with a gold, green and brown shadow: all of which at shimmery. They aren't buttery shadows but they are pigmented enough to get the job done. Even though this trio is for green eyes I really enjoyed it with my baby blue eyes and it complimented my burgundy hair color nicely. It  also comes with a sponge tip applicator in case anyone was wondering. This product sell for $6.99.

Next is DISLIKEs:
NYX AUTO eyebrow pencil in EP04 brown. I do not enjoy this at all it is a dry formula, it's hard to apply and it makes my brows like oranges and drawn on, I know I am drawing on them but I don't want it to like that way! $5
NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner in 889 Extra Black. It may be called extra black but this lacks so much pigmentation. I have to apply this three times for it to even be a charcoal gray, it has a nice pointed tip but I want EXTRA BLACK not gray. $3.50+
E.l.f. Baked Eyeshadow Palette in Seattle. The packaging is awesome, durable, nice big mirror but the product inside is terrible, beyond terrible. No pigmentation, even with a primer or water application. I had to dig my finger into the product to even get a swatch. I read reviews on the same palette in different shadows and they seem promising but this palette is awful in the shade Seattle. All you accomplish is to get flaky glitter everywhere. $10!
Almay Wake Up Trio and Primer in 020 Exhilarate. The primer in this is a thick white cream, it turns even my pale skin printer paper white! The shadows are very dry and they also flake fairly bad. This compact style product doesn't come with a mirror but it does include a sponge tip applicator. $8 it also comes with very small amounts of the product.
Last up is the Victoria Secret perfume in Very Sexy. I got a sample of this as a Christmas gift pack type thing. This morning I sprayed myself with this and it is like a mix between powdery, old lady perfume, floral tones, and musk. It has a lasting staying powder but I did not enjoy the scent, it sort of reminds me of the perfume White Diamond. Not my cup of tea guys!

So that is it! Sorry, that it has been a while since my last post but I hope this one was helpful or
enjoyable! I will take requests any time!

Lazy Day Makeup Tips!

Today's blog post is going to be my few steps to lazy day makeup!  I and going to give steps and examples of products <3

These steps will work best if you use a moisturizer before bed or before you apply even lazy day makeup! Take care of your skin and keep it hydrated!

Step #1 perfect and mattify your face. I like to use my Covergirl and Olay Concealer Balm ($8) to perfect or disguise any spots on my completion and once I have finished concealing I will just dust my face with some kind of powder; mineral veils, pressed powders, loose foundation powders, anything will do. I like to use bareMinerals mineral veil ($20), Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder ($10), or e.l.f. Mineral foundation ($5) for additional coverage.
Step #2 Your Brows! To me my eyebrows completely frame my face and I hate to leave home without having my brows done.  I have currently been using e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in medium ($3). And if you don't have any cosmetic product made for brows, you can use an eyeliner or eyeshadow about the same color as your hair. I used to use a brown eyeliner from dollar tree to do my brows. No biggy! I loved my brows then all the same. Also just a reminder, please take care of your brows, don't shave them off but make sure you regularly shape them with either tweezers or wax, brows set up your entire face's frame work!!!!

Last but not least, lips, do something with your lips. I either go for a chap stick, a tinted lip balm or sometype of stain. I like the Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm ($1), e.l.f  Essential Lip Balm Tints ($2), or the N.Y.C lip stains ($5) which are a decent but not perfect product.

Dove Go Sleeveless Anti Perspirant Deodorant

This product states that you can go sleeveless in just five days.  I have always had issues with ingrown hair and razor burn on my underarm areas. It was completely normal for me to have multiple  nasty spots under my arms at one time and I never thought a deodorant would help.
Since I have started using this, plus I am using the same razors I have for years, my under arms have completely changed.  At one point I was afraid to throw my hands up in the air around my boyfriend and now I can whenever I want.  I no longer have razor burn under my arms nor do I have nasty, swollen ingrown hair, and like I said I haven't changed my razor.
This product doesn't leave me smelling bad after any amount of time and I would say have have gone at least 24hrs with out showering or reapplication.  It does state on the bottle that is has a 48 hr longevity period but I have not tested this. The one scent I have has a nice clean scent with maybe a bit of a baby powder scent.  It is not extremely fragrant, it just keeps you from smelling. Overall great product <3
I hope that  I have convinced someone try this, because it is truly my favorite deodorant!

Clothing, Shoe, Accessories, and Makeup/Nail Haul - Charlette Russe, Rue21, Sephora, CVS

So yesterday I did a bit of a haul, in this blog, I will tell you what I got, what size it was, and how much it cost. In this little haul I decided to build up my collection of  Spring clothes, makeup, shoes, and accessories:
- 2 Accessories
- 3 Pairs of Shoes
- 4 Pieces of Clothing
- 4 Makeup and Nail Items

I got these retro, gold framed sunglasses with uv 400 protection lenses that are tan, so cute! $2 or $3 at rue21 in a clearance bin.
My next accessories were a set of three, gold midi rings that I purchased at Charlette Russe for $5.  They go on the middle of your finger. One say love, one is a heart and the other is a gold bow with coral colored pieces on it. You could also wear these like normal rings I'd you fingers were thin enough.
Next up I will post pics of me wearing the shoes and clothing, I will state where it came from and how much it was.

The dress is a size XL and a little tight on my size 14 butt, but it was $4.99. The shoes are a little big though in a size 9, I would say they are about 5 inches tall and heel looks like faux wood, the top is very strappy with a blach suede type material. Both these items are from Charlette Russe and I picked up the shoes for $4.99.

Next is this top and the shoes. The top is a jersey material other than the bow which is chiffon, it is completely strapless and has a sweet heart neckline. This top is short and came from Charlette Russe for $2.99. And the shoes are from rue 21 and costed $3 in the size 8. The shoes have cute side cut outs which will make them nice and breezy for Spring and Summer!

In this picture, I had purchased the shirt and shoes, this time the shirt was from Rue 21 and the Shoes from Charlette Russe. The shirt is a size XL and zipped completely in the front. The back has the straps in an x shape. This is as short as it appears in the picture. Cost $3. Then the shoe, these little pee toes are a size 8 and have the same height and faux wood end wedges as the black ones, also only $4.99 at Charlette Russe.
Then this little spaghetti strapped crop top that as a liiittttle bit of boob support if you don't have a strapless bras available. I would also like to mention the length in the back of this top. It is a it longer in the back than the front and that is great for me because my body decided is was going to store some of my fat on my back and I am a bit uncomfortable with people seeing my back "boobs" and this length in the back is perfect for that, I got this item at Charlette Russe for $2.99.

Now last but certainly not least is my mini makeup haul from CVS and Sephora.
On the very left is a Milani color statement lipstick in fruit punch. It smells like fruit punch to! This was from CVS and about $5.50. The there was my one item from Sephora, the sephora brand liquid waterproof eyeliner in black 01. This is originally $12 but it was on sale for $6. This is a really pigmented liner and instead of it having bristles it has a felt tip like my Stila Liner. Then you have the Wet n Wild Megalast nail polish in Club Havana, such a pretty color and I really enjoy the Megalast polish formula. $1.99 Then lastly is my new Wet n Wild blush in heather silk, it is a pretty pinky, mauve shade and when I swatched this it felt so soft and the swatch was very true to color, pigmented  very well. It costs $2.99.

I hope everyone enjoyed my blog today, and if anyone has some questions or suggestions, post them below!

My Favorite Eyeliners, Drugstore and Highend!

I was going to do a review/ informational blog today on my hair color and what dye I use but I was having technical issues, so instead I an going to do a review on my favorite drugstore and high-end eyeliners, I mostly only use black liners though, so this review will have all black eyeliners and one nude eyeliner!
First is the nude liner, it is Rimmel Scandeleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner in the shade 005 Nude. I use this in my waterline to make my eyes appear larger. This is nicely pigmented, waterproof, and only 4 dollars. This is the only thing like this in my collection except a white liner that I don't like as much on my waterline.
Next, I will be my high end and drugstore liquid liners.  This is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner which is the high end liquid liner. This product has a felt tip and is easy to use, almost like a marker. I love using this for winged liners and everyday use. It is a bit waterproof but not to the point where you could swim all day and it still be there. It costs $20 which is a bit pricey but I haven't yet found a drugstore dupe or equivalent to this.
This product is very pigmented but is harder to apply than the Stila liner and it is a bit more time consuming to get a thin line but the way this appears on the eye is nice. Plus the price difference allows you to not mind the SLIGHTLY harder application process, this is the e.l.f. Precision Liquid Eyeliner which costs $3.

Next up, is the regular black eyeliners. This is my favorite high end eyeliner out of the several I have tried, it is the Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner which cost $24 at Sephora. It is a nice creamy black but I don't see the point in spending all that money when I have a wonderful drugstore alternative :) not a dupe but just as good.
This is the same as the first item but it is in the shade 001 black which is a very rich black that you can use on the lash line or in the waterline. Also only $4 and works, in my opinion, just as well as the $24 dollar one!

I hope this helped someone decide what the best liner for them is or if it was just nice to hear some favorites from someone's collection other than their own! And as alway, I will take ideas for blogs in the comment section below!

The Perfect Four, My Best Brushes Review

From Left to Right:
jane iredale Powder brush; bareMinerals Full Flawless Face; e.l.f. Professional Powder Brush; e.l.f. Professional Eyeshadow Brush

So these are my favorite makeup brushes so far in my makeup journey. I am going to explain why I like these brushes, what I use them for, and how expensive they are.

First is the jane iredale Powder brush, when  I checked the website it appears that this brush isn't sold individual so the who set is a crazy price of $290. The whole jane iredale line is a skin care type brand, so if certain makeups or brushes break you out/ irritate your skin this line might be for you. I original chose this brush because it is very soft and durable, plus it is the perfect size for you blush application. Sorry about the price tag!:(

Next up is the bareMinerals Full Flawless Face brush which is a very full brush that stands up to pressed powders like it's nobody's business. This brush's bristles are more course and not flimsy but the brush isn't harsh on you skin, it doesn't shed. I use this with all of my pressed or loose; skin toned or translucent powders. This sell for $28 at Sephora and other retailers.

The third brush is the e.l.f. Professional Powder Brush which is veryyyy small, I love it, it is like a half size or something and it work perfect for contouring you face! $1 at eyeslipsface.com

Last but not least is my old faithful, the e.l.f. Professional Eyes Shadow Brush. I have had this brush for I don't even know how long! It works nicely to pack on shadow. I use this on my lid, in my crease and on brow bone, something's I even use it to apply a contour to my nose. It is GREAT. I have washed it and it didn't shed, I don't use it wet or with cream shadows but I'm sure it would do fine though because the bristles are packed in very dense. This work horse is also only $1 on the e.l.f. website.

I think with this I pretty much covered every price range, haha, sorry they don't sell that brush individual but if you want to purchase, the set IS really nice. But hopefully, you all can at least pick up the two e.l.f. Brushes for your collection, or just enjoyed this blog:). Thanks for reading, if there is anything you would like to see me put on my blog, just leave it in the comments section!

Covergirl Tru Blend Liquid Makeup a.k.a Covergirl Tru Blend Foundation REVIEW

A few weeks ago I had a two dollar off coupon on the Covergirl Tru Blend line and I thought that I might as well give it a go!

First off, I will give you a little background on my skin. I have pale and mild to extremely dry skin. If I don't moisturize my skin at night with an extreme moisturizer and with a lighter moisturizer before I do my makeup my skin is a dry mess. I get small break outs every once in a while. My pores aren't huge but definitely there.

This product works well for me. It is a medium coverage, I didn't try to build it up though. This doesn't cling to dry patches. The pump works nicely. There is an awesome shade variety! I am the lightest shade l1, and the bottle contains 1 fluid ounce. This wears nicely through the day and doesn't change or get nasty  by the end of the day. I don't find this getting oily but this does not leave your skin matte, you will need a powder over top. I would give this product 5 stars and I can't really think of a negative to this product. It should work well with even oily skin types but I am not exactly an oily skin expert, but it doesn't make my t zone oily. This product leaves you with a natural looking finish not a cakey one. Thumbs up for Covergirl!

Facts:
Natural Finish
Shade Variety
Medium Coverage
Doesn't cling to dry patches
At least an 8 hour wear
Has a Pumper to dispense
Thick Liquid Consistence
Does leave a dry skinned individuals t zone oily mid-day

Face of the Day/ FOTD 2/17/2014

First Face of the Day Post!
Sorry for the poor picture quality but I will walk you through the look and the products used regardless! Haha and here we go!
I started with Covergirl's Tru Blend Liquid Makeup in l1 and blended that all over my face. Then I used Revlon's Photoready Concealer in 001 under my eyes, and on my t zone, it works well, I just have really dark under eye circles.I continued on to use my e.l.f. Professional Powder Brush to apply Essence's Matt Bronzing Powder under my cheek bones and around my hair line. I then used my Tarte Off the Cuff Palette, shade "dazzled", on the apples of my cheeks and on back with my jane iredale powder brush. And as the last face step I applied Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed powder all over my face with my Bare Minerals Full Flawless Face brush.
Then I started my eyes off by using bareMinerals Prime Time eyelid primer all over my lid. Then I took my NYX Love in Rio 07  lightest shade and put it on my brow bone and all over my lid with my  e.l.f. Eyeshadow "C" brush. Then I took the darkest shade from my Rio Trio and put it in my crease. I  then used my e.l.f Precision Liquid Eyeliner in black and lined my upper lash line ending with a wing. I then lined my water line with Rimmel Scandeleyes Waterproof liner in nude. And took the same Rimmel liner in Black and put it on the outer half of my lower lash line. I then used my e.l.f. Small Angled Brush to take Loreal's infallible eyeshadow in 759 and applied it to my outer v. It gives a nice pop of the years radiant orchid color (which you can't see in the picture lol). Then to finish off my eyes, I applied Tarte's lights, camera, LASHES mascara. Look at how full those lashes are!

But of course I didn't forget my brows and lips! On my brows I used e.l.f.'s Studio Brow Kit in Medium. For the lips I did Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lipstain + Balm (it faded quickly, I'm not a fan, do not waste money on this stain!).

Makeup Starter Kit/ Best Makeup for Beginners

Yesterday I bought a 16 year old a bday gift and it inspired me to make this post red is face, blue is eyes, and lips are purple! All Drugstore Products!
Concealer - Covergirl and Olay Concealer balm, this is creamy and easy to apply. It is formatted like a lip stick. I have extremely dark circles and this gives a medium to full coverage. ~ $8
Foundation - Maybelline BB cream, I rarely buy doubles of a product but I have this one! It is easy to apply (even for the inexperienced), light on the skin and doesn't make skin look cakey. I love this in the summer time or when I just want a light coverage. ~ 8$
Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Not Flat Pressed Powder in Translucent. This product mattifies the skin, but doesn't leave it dual looking. It has no coverage because it is translucent but it does leave skin nice and matte for around $4.
Bronzer - I have two in mind for this category; a light and a dark. The lighter of the two would be the Essence's Bronzer in 01 Natural, this is best used on pale people, ~ $5. Then, number two is revlon's photo-ready  bronzer, which is for light or dark completions, depending on how much you apply. I enjoy both of these but the Essence one smells great and the Revlon on is a whopping $12, unless you find it at Big-lots for $3.50 like I did. Keep your eyes on the look out to get a deal!
Blush - CoastalScents 10 Blush Palette. Holy Cow can anyone say pigmentation and variety! This product comes with ten huge blushes that are all different, this will last you years and the packaging is so durable, totally worth the $16 considering most drugstore blushes are around $8.
Highlight - E.L.F. Essential Shimmering Facial Whip. This smells like fruit flavored hard candy and is only $1. Be careful not to use this on areas with large pore because it will make them appear larger but this is a nice highlight for a forehead, cheekbones, and a Cupid's bow.
Eyeshadow Primer - E.L.F. Eyelid Primer in Sheer, $1 and does the job. Increases longevity of your eyeshadow throughout the day. This is a product I have bought probably 4-5x which is a BIG DEAL!
Eyeshadows - Wet n Wild Shadows $2 for singles, $3 for trios, and $5 for 8 pan palettes. Nice pigmentation, soft, nice color variety. You can go basic, smokey, or " natural"  with these shadows. I have bought the trio sweet as candy two times now.
Liquid Liner - L.A. Colors Professional Series Liquid Liner. I have bought this twice, it is extremely liquids, lasts forever, great pigmentation, and is easy to apply. And usually only $1 at the dollar tree. Be careful to only use this on your upper lash line though because it is not at alllll waterproof!
Eyeliner - Rimmel Scandeleyes Waterproof  Kohl Eyeliner in black and nude. These glide on with ease and stay put! Use the nude color in your waterline to make your eyes appear larger. ~$4
Mascara - Maybelline Falsies mascara ~$5 and Essence I Love Crazy Extreme Volume Mascara ~5$
Lipstick - Maybelline Color Whispers ~ 5$.  Easy to apply. No lip liner necessary!
LipStain - Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream ~$3 Great longevity, not an uncomfortable matte lip product, smooth. This starts as a cream and then dries almost to a stain.
Hopefully someone finds this useful! :)

This is only my second time to Ulta (ever!) because it is about an hour away from were I live and there are plenty of drugstores and Sephora's around, so it is rare and only on occasion when I go to an Ulta!

I picked up 6 things in my haul today and I have already tested 3 of them out!

Item #1 - Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 01 Natural
This item is for fair to MAYBE medium skin toned people, like myself, because it is a lighter color for a bronzer. I think this works awesome on my skin as a contour, I would categories my completion as ivory. This powder is very soft to the touch and smells great, just like coconut! So, if you are wanting a bronzer that smells good and don't want to spend $30 to buy Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer this will definitely do the trick.  Plus, you are getting 1.5 times the product (10 g compared to 15g) for only around 5$. Only downside is that the packaging seems not so durable and there is no mirror in the compact.

Items #2 and #3 NYX Butter Lip Balms in Red Velvet and Brownie
I have seen these in a YouTube video (channel - Beauty Broadcast Express) and figured I'd give them a try. All they are is a tinted lip balm. They both smell like cherry candy and the packaging is just like a Chapstick, plus they have the same little feel on the skin as Chapstick. From my swatching they are what you would expect, not a ton of pigmentIon but I feel like this would be a great thing to throw in your purse or bag in case you are having a lazy day and decide you need a little color on your lips. Only 3.99 apiece.

Item #4 NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige
This gloss is crazy pigmented! And dispute it's shade name it is really a classic, bubble gum pink color. This gloss has the smell of cherry cough syrup but I don't notice it as much once it is on the lips. The packaging is very nice and the wond has a doe foot applicator on the end. This gloss doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the lips and it goes on true to color. Plus it is on the less expensive end of drugstore glosses at 4.99.

Item #5 and #6 Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream in Velvet Rose and Silky Red
These start out wet and drys to a COMFORTABLE matte finish. I tried velvet rose today and it goes nicely with pale skin, it is a pale pink colored cream. It did not dry out my lips and when I swatches the only one in silky rose it actually stained my hand which means that when you wear this once the product wears away your lips are still going to be stained this bright red color. These also have a doe foot applicator which makes applying these vivid colors easier.

Sorry that I only picked up two brands of products in this haul but these two brands are not sold in any stores close to home but I hope this haul was at least a little bit informative to anyone reading this! Post any Comments or Questions below!
